5 Super Simple Homemade Treats Your Pup Will Love

5 Super Simple Homemade Treats Your Pup Will Love

Never Made Your Own Dog Treats Before?

No worries - these are so simple any hooman can make them.  My hooman is pretty busy, and tries to keep things pretty easy when it comes to my food and treats.  She doesn't have the time (or skill) for anything too complicated.  That's why treats are so yummy, and easy to make.  For my hooman, she's happy knowing all the ingredients that go into my treats.  My hooman tried not to feed me any grain, corn, soy, or poultry so these recipes should work for a variety of dog diets.  With 5 ingredients or less, you and your best pupper can feel good about these recipes.

Baked Sweet Potato Fries

I love love love sweet potatoes!  My hoomans get dried sweet potato for me to eat, but that can take hours to cook yourself.  This is a quicker recipe for those hoomans who don't have 5 hours to slowly dehydrate sweet potato.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Sweet Potato
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil (melted)
  • Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425° F
  2. Wash the sweet potato (peeling isn't necessary, but you can if you prefer)
  3. Cut the sweet potato into evenly sized (fry shaped) pieces
  4. Lightly coat with oil and cinnamon (this works best in a large bowl or even a sealed plastic bag)
  5. Spread sweet potato pieces in a single layer on your baking sheet
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the fries about halfway through
  7. Be sure to let them cool before letting your pup chow down!

Berry and Melon Fro-Yo Bites

You have to be careful when feeding your pupper fruits and veggies.  Despite what we'd have you believe, we can't actually eat anything.  Luckily, some of my favs are ok for doggos.  If your pup runs warm like me (thanks double coat) he'll enjoy these all year round.

Chilly Fall Pumpkin Bites

You might be noticing that my hooman makes me lots of frozen treats.  That's because they're both super quick to make, and because I'm a warm pupper.  My double coat keeps me pretty toasty all year, so I love something frozen to eat (or play with) even in the winter.
